Roles and devices

instructoradminparticipant

The four roles — admin, instructor, projector/display, and participant — and which device each uses in a live class.

Summary

Nalanda has four roles, each on its own device during a live class.

The roles

  • Admin — manages instructors and the AI providers/keys. Signs in from the home page.
  • Instructor — authors courses and runs live sessions from the control room.
  • Projector / Display — the room's shared screen. Opens /display?code=…, shows the course cover and join QR, then follows the instructor's live slides.
  • Participant — joins by QR or code, as either:
    • In-class — the phone shows questions only; they watch the projector.
    • Remote — the phone mirrors the live slides and the questions.

Notes & tips

The projector renders slides identically to the instructor's screen (a shared fixed 1280×720 stage) so laser-pointer and ink annotations line up across screens.
